Today is the 55th anniversary of the release of the self-titled debut album.

Today marks the 55th anniversary of KINKS – the band’s self-titled debut album – which was released in the UK on October 2nd 1964.

The album features the Kinks’ first ever number 1 single You Really Got Me which became the Kinks’ breakthrough hit and established them as one of the top British Invasion acts in the United States.
