UK Jive

The Kinks’ first studio album in three years (the longest such gap in their discography) was another incisive portrayal of England at the end of the ‘80s. Released a year before the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, UK Jive fittingly reprises and recontextualizes some of Ray Davies’ favorite songwriting topics—the pitfalls of modernization, the absurdities of everyday life—for the end of the 20th century.
